Audio from Aug. 7, 2025, near 2900 W. Addison Street, where Chicago police officers observed multiple people burglarizing a business.

The people entered a sedan and an SUV. As they tried to flee, one of the vehicles struck an officer. While being struck by the vehicle, the officer fired their gun.

Responding officers pursued the people who fled the scene. No one was reported struck by gunfire. The officer hit during the initial pursuit was taken to the hospital in good condition. No officers were injured in the vehicle pursuit. No one is in custody.
