Off-duty Sergeant Shooting Near 2700 N. Halsted
On February 22, 2024, an off-duty Chicago Police sergeant was driving a personal vehicle near 2700 N. Halsted Street when two individuals on foot approached. The sergeant got out of the vehicle and reported seeing one of the individuals holding a handgun. The sergeant discharged a firearm in the direction of one of the individuals, and both individuals fled. No one was struck by gunfire. No weapon was recovered on scene.
