Off-duty Officer Shooting Near 50 W. Polk Street
On November 16, 2024, at approximately 3 a.m., an off-duty Chicago police officer-involved shooting occurred in the vicinity of 50 W. Polk Street. Officer Karla Alvarez, number 18544, was off duty when she exchanged gunfire with unknown male individuals during an armed robbery of the officer's friend. Officer Alvarez's use of deadly force complied with CPD policy, and no allegations of misconduct were served. Watch the video of this incident here.
