She's clearly in shock. She hasn't emotionally processed what happened yet. People with new babies do sometimes forget stuff like this -- they have a lifetime of habits that don't involve taking care of a totally dependent infant (dogs at least will bother you until you pay attention to them). But to forget for 11 hours...that's pretty hard to believe. I won't condemn her without knowing the whole story, but it's negligent homicide for sure. |
