Moments after finding her mother's lifeless body, the sister of Oscar-winning actress Jennifer Hudson sobs as she pleads for help in a disturbing 911 recording released to the news media Monday.
'Oh my God.... Somebody's killed my mother,' Julia Hudson cries, while a dispatcher tries to get her to calm down and repeat her address.
'She's on the floor and I see blood coming from her head,' she says, before realising that her brother is also dead inside the house and her 7-year-old son is missing.

The shocking tape was played in open court last week during the trial of Julia Hudson's ex boyfriend William Balfour, who is accused of killing the actress' mother, Darnell Donerson, brother Jason Hudson and 7-year-old nephew, Julian King.

On the emotional tape, Hudson desperately begs a dispatcher for help after finding her mother shot dead inside the family's home on Chicago's South Side.
Julia Hudson returned from work on October 24 2008 and found bullet holes in the front door. After seeing her mother’s body she runs outside and calls 911 before realising that she does not know where her brother and 7-year-old son are.
Hudson's horror and confusion are apparent on the tape as she wonders aloud, 'Where my brother at? What happened?'
She also cries in panic that she doesn't know the location of her son, 7-year-old Julian. He was found shot dead three days later on Chicago's notorious West Side.
'I don't know where Julian is or nothing and I'm here by myself,' she says. She tells the dispatcher she 'just got home from work' and 'there's a bullet hole in our front door.'
Balfour has pleaded not guilty to first-degree murder charges in the October 2008 killings. He was estranged from Julia Hudson at the time of the killings, that were allegedly carried out as jealous revenge for Julia Hudson refusing to get back together with him.
A judge in Chicago released the tape after a request by the Chicago Tribune, Sun-Times Media and The Associated Press.
Prosecutors tried to bar the tape's release because of the sensitive nature of the case and because the jury has not begun deliberating.
But Cook County Judge Charles Burns noted in his ruling that the jury has been warned not to watch or read news reports about the case.
Burns said there's no evidence Balfour's due process rights would be harmed.

Update:

Last week Cook County prosecutors continued to speed through their case against William Balfour, putting on nearly 40 witnesses against Jennifer Hudson's former brother-in-law, who is on trial on charges he killed the singer's mother, Darnell Donerson; brother Jason Hudson and nephew Julian King, 7, in October 2008.

•Brittany Acoff-Howard, who said she was like a little sister to Balfour, testified he asked her to lie about his whereabouts on the day of the murders at the Hudson family's South Side home. Acoff-Howard said Balfour told her, "If anybody asks you, I've been out west all day."

•Reginald Jones testified he bought drugs from Hudson's brother and once helped him cook cocaine into crack in the family's kitchen. Balfour's attorneys have suggested the murders were linked to the brother's drug business.

•A series of forensic experts testified that neither Balfour's DNA nor fingerprints were found on the alleged murder weapon or in the SUV in which Hudson's nephew was found dead.

•Next, prosecutors are expected to call detectives who questioned Balfour after his arrest at a girlfriend's West Side home. An expert is also expected to testify that Balfour's CTA card was not used that day, rebutting his alibi that he had taken a train to the woman's home. The prosecution could wrap up its case by Wednesday. The defense could then present evidence.

Prosecutors allege that Balfour was enraged that his estranged wife, Julia Hudson, who is the singer's sister, wanted a divorce and was seeing another man.

1) They get a lot of stupid callers - they must sort out the people who *think* they have an important call, and those who do actually have an important call.

2) The questions he asked determine the way the call goes. They follow a semi-rigid matrix to determine what happened, when, to whom, .. and what needs to be dispatched and what needs to happen while the resources are still on their way.

I know his questions were painful, but they were all key questions.
