On May 26, 2010, Shannon Price, the ex-wife of former child TV star Gary Coleman, made a 911 call from their home in Santaquin, Utah, after Coleman suffered a serious head injury. During the nearly six-minute call, Price described a distressing scene, stating that Coleman was bleeding from the back of his head and "bubbling at the mouth," but was still trying to get up.

Price told the dispatcher that she was unsure if Coleman had a seizure or hit his head and fell. She mentioned hearing a "big bang" after Coleman went downstairs to prepare food. She expressed her fear and urgency, saying, "Send someone quick because I don't know if he's like gonna be alive cause there's a lot of blood on the floor."

Price, who was reportedly divorced from Coleman since 2008, appeared unable to provide direct assistance due to her own health issues, including seizures. She described Coleman as lethargic and not fully conscious, saying, "I don’t even know what happened. …I looked at the back of his head and it’s all bloody and gross," and "He’s conscious but he’s not, like, with it."

Gary Coleman was taken to Utah Valley Regional Medical Center in Provo, where he slipped into unconsciousness and was placed on life support. He died two days later, on May 28, 2010, at the age of 42, due to a brain hemorrhage. His death was ruled an accident.
