Chicago Officer-involved Shooting Near 4500 S. Drexel
This audio is from an incident on July 25, 2021, near the 4500 block of South Drexel Boulevard in Chicago. Chicago police officers initiated a traffic stop. The passenger exited the vehicle, and officers pursued him on foot after a brief chase. During the pursuit, the passenger discharged a firearm in the direction of the pursuing officer. The officer returned fire and struck the passenger. The passenger was taken into custody and received medical attention. Released materials included OEMC transmissions and ShotSpotter recordings.
