Re: Wrong Turn Signal Costs Life

08.12.2025 - A motorcyclist died after being involved in an accident with a lorry that suddenly turned left in an incident that went viral on social media.

The incident is believed to have occurred at an intersection when the lorry was seen signaling to turn right but entering the left lane.

At the same time, the motorcyclist who was speeding straight did not have time to avoid and hit the side of the lorry.

The lorry driver involved was seen immediately stopping his vehicle and rushing out to check on the victim.

In a follow-up post, the victim was seen lying stiffly on the side of the road before his body was placed in a body bag by police officers, assisted by members of the public.

Re: Wrong Turn Signal Costs Life

It looks to me that the motorcyclist actually was not in a valid marked travel lane

At least he won’t have to suffer a long life of hard work and paying bills.

He won’t get to enjoy life’s little pleasures either.

Re: Wrong Turn Signal Costs Life

An elderly man died and his wife was seriously injured after the motorcycle they were riding was involved in an accident with a lorry that suddenly changed direction in Ipoh, last Saturday.

The lorry driven by a 23-year-old man suddenly changed direction to the left lane of the road.

As a result, the motorcycle ridden by Ahmad Taufik Abu Bakar, 60, who was behind the heavy vehicle, was believed to have no time to avoid and crashed into the left side of the lorry.

“The motorcyclist was confirmed dead at the scene.

The pillion rider, who is also his wife Azizah Mat Jamat, 61, suffered a broken left leg and was immediately sent to the Raja Permaisuri Bainun Hospital (HRPB) for treatment.

Police said that further examination found that the motorcycle involved did not have road tax and had expired insurance.

The police have opened an investigation paper and the case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.

The lorry driver was also detained to assist in the investigation.
