Woman Swallowed by Street Drain After Manhole Cover Gave Way
A woman fell into a street drain in Rio de Janeiro after the manhole cover suddenly gave way beneath her. Trapped inside when the cover closed above her, she was unable to escape on her own. A passing motorbike delivery rider quickly stepped in and helped rescue her, preventing what could have turned into a far more serious incident. The shocking episode has once again raised concerns about public infrastructure safety and the condition of manholes and drainage systems in busy urban areas. |
