Colombia, Security video captured the exact moment when a truck without brakes savagely ran over an elderly woman on a steep road in the in the south of Bogotá.

The footage shows that, seconds before the incident, the woman was talking to another woman on the street, when at one point they noticed that a truck was coming down the street at full speed and in reverse.

However, the adult woman was hit when she ran out into the street, while the other woman she was talking to jumped back and managed to avoid the vehicle.

The health staus of the woman is unknown.

Looks like got smacked pretty hard but was lucky enough to not be run over by the rear wheels. Not that she survived but at least she’s not spread all over the road. A much easier cleanup.

Where did the head-over-heels woman come from? I didn't see her prior to the truck's arrival but she was doing somersaults after the truck went by.

A security camera captured the moment when the woman, accompanied by another person, tried to run across the street without noticing that the truck was moving backwards out of control. Tragically, the van ran over her while her companion managed to avoid the vehicle in time.

Both women are receiving medical attention for their serious injuries.

Additionally, at least five people were reported injured in total, including damage to a power pole the truck collided with. A third woman, who was with her young children, was also injured, suffering a sprained spine and hip, and is awaiting an X-ray to assess possible rib injuries.

Witnesses criticise the lack of caution of drivers on the slopes and the absence of adequate measures for the safety of residents.

The exact causes of the accident are still under investigation. Authorities are working to clarify the facts and the truck driver is under investigation.

Between January and June 2024, 3,943 deaths from traffic accidents were reported in Colombia.
