Mexico. Dylan Velazco Jurado, 25, was speeding in a black Dodge Charger/Challenger and reports from local responders and witnessesd indicated he was driving under the influence of alcohol and mounted the sidewalk to bypass traffic.

The car plowed directly into the storefront of a tortilla restaurant on Friday morning. Before crashing into the building, the car struck pedestrians, a parked vehicle and 2 motorcycles.

The collision also ruptured an exterior gas line, causing a leak/minor explosion that was quickly contained by the Mexico City Fire Department.

Emergency responders confirmed one elderly woman passed away at the scene and seven people got injured.

Dylan was detained at the scene by the SSC and remains under investigation by the Public Ministry.

A 27 years old woman sustained an open fracture and was rushed for emergency surgery. A 29 years old male was diagnosed with severe lower back/spine trauma and was hospitalized. A 42 years old woman was treated for multiple severe contusions and blunt force trauma. A 56 years old womman reated for various severe impacts and contusions. Three others received minor injuries.
