How the hell do you forget something like that? I don't get some people. Like people who forget their housekeys inside their own house. Or people who can't find their glasses. Or people who try to eat soup with a fork.

I've been in a rush and forgotten to take the pump out. Luckily they have those quick release things on the hoses now.  |

Many years ago, I used to work in a gas station, and this happens more than you'd think. In our case, the handle would just disconnect from the pump, and no harm done, except for the manager having to buy a new handle.
