The Hospital Norte do Paraná (Honpar) confirmed the brain death of V.P.A.M., who was run over by a vehicle in Arapongas. The accident occurred on Sunday morning (3) near Prisma College. The driver fled the scene without providing assistance, but according to the Civil Police, he has already been identified. A security camera installed at Rua Francelho recorded the moment the 33-year-old woman was hit by the vehicle.

V. had just left a religious event at St. Vincent Palotti church, accompanied by friends, when she was struck by a Saveiro Surf, around 1:45.

The driver was on the wrong track when he hit V., who was walking near the curb. He did not stop to give help and so far has not been located.

V. was a resident of the city of Cambé and left three children, a girl of 16, a boy of 12 and another of six. She was admitted to the ICU of Honpar, formerly João de Freitas, in Arapongas. The victim had fractures, pulmonary trauma and haemorrhagic cranial trauma. Until the publication of this report, despite the brain death, the devices had not yet been turned off because there was the possibility of organ donation.
