Jackson police said videos on social media of a driver ramming a car into barricades at a Jackson Walmart showed "a civil dispute that turned criminal."

Jackson Police Department spokesman Sgt. Roderick Holmes said details are still sketchy on the particulars of the incident, but that "there was some type of agreement over this particular vehicle between two parties, and they started to disagree about it."

Holmes said the original owner of the car wanted it back.

"The person in possession of the car didn’t see eye to eye with them, so they made the decision that if they were going to get the car back, they’d get it back damaged," he said.

While some social media descriptions of the incident said the person behind the wheel was a woman, Holmes said he believes it was a man.

In the video, people can be seen trying to get the door open, and Holmes said it's not yet clear if they're involved in the car dispute or if they were just trying to get the driver to stop.

Holmes said the driver was arrested and had prior fines, but he's not sure as of Sunday night what the driver was charged with.

Walmart made a report for the damage done to the barricade poles, Holmes said.
