Volkswagen Touareg Slams into a Broken Down VW Golf and Driver Repairing It
On the evening of November 3 an accident unfolded on Orlovskaya Street (near building No. 86/1) in Minsk, russia when a driver experienced a technical failure with his Volkswagen Golf. Instead of pulling over completely or pushing the car to safety, he stopped directly in one of the active lanes of the busy multi-lane roadway. The driver switched on his emergency hazard lights and popped open the bonnet to inspect the engine bay. However, he failed to place an emergency warning triangle sign behind his vehicle to alert oncoming traffic in the fast-moving lane. As the man stood directly in front of his car working under the open hood, a Volkswagen Touareg SUV traveling at speed in the exact same lane failed to see the stationary obstruction in time. The Touareg slammed violently into the rear of the parked Golf. The sheer force of the rear-end collision sent the parked Volkswagen Golf rocketing forward. It plowed directly into its own owner who was standing right in front of it. Miraculously, given the nature of the crash, the driver survived. Traffic police and an ambulance arrived at the scene shortly after. The injured owner of the Golf was able to attempt to get up on his own before being rushed to a nearby hospital for emergency medical evaluation. |
