Video Shows Cars Speeding Before Crash Killing Six Highway Workers on I-695
BALTIMORE - A video obtained by WJZ shows two cars crashing at a high rate of speed before striking six construction workers in a work zone Wednesday afternoon on I-695 in Baltimore County. The video shows a gray Acura passenger car and a white car in the same far-left lane before colliding. The Acura veered off the highway and overturned in between a jersey wall. Maryland State Police identified the six contractual workers who were killed as R. R, 46, of Laurel; C. O. V. E, 43, of Frederick; J. A. E, 52, of Frederick; M. S. III, 31, of Union Bridge; M. S. II, 52, of Union Bridge; and S. L. D., 46, of Glen Burnie. The driver of the Acura passenger car, identified as 54-year-old L. A. L., from Randallstown, was taken to Shock Trauma. Troopers said she had attempted to change from one lane to another when her vehicle struck the front corner panel on the passenger side of 20-year-old M. B's white Volkswagen. Crash Team investigators believe this caused her to lose control and veer into the work zone. The crash on I-695 at Security Boulevard shut down lanes in both directions for hours. |

Well if ever there was a time for "If they didn't have bad luck, they'd have none at all" this is it... wow, what incredible odds, that time, that gap, that speed, that pit maneuver.. wowza. You couldn't repeat that if you planned it.

Both drivers were racing/fighting for the pole position in the hammer lane on a congested public highway. Both are equally guilty for those deaths. They both need prison sentences and lifetime nationwide ban from driving, registering, insuring or owning a motor vehicle. Next, our spineless Gov needs to pass out that same penalty daily. If that happens, I think it would take less than 30-days for everybody, nationwide, to slow the **** down (except the car thieves, of course).

Brothers or father and son? Or both? I did see that a father and son were mentioned in one article maybe they got it wrong or there were two brothers and also a father and son?

M. S. III, 31, of Union Bridge; M. S. II, 52, of Union Bridge were a father and son who used to work as construction workers in Baltimore and C. O. V. E, 43, of Frederick; J. A. E, 52, of Frederick were brothers. M. S. III was born on October 19, 1990, in Westminster, MD. He graduated from Francis Scott Key High School in 2008 and went on to attend the University of Maryland. He earned a degree in civil engineering services there. After graduation, M.S. III started working for the Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration as a construction manager. The details about his father’s personal life are not available at this time. |
