Maybe Kasatka was turning the tide and trying to play a whale game with him. We just didn't understand it because we don't speak the same language. She was probably tired of always playing the human game of "blow a whistle and I'll do a stupid trick for you".

Orca's (and many other species) should NOT be caught and kept in captivity for entertainment, they are wild animals so are unpredictable. Unfortunate experience but at least the man survived.

two of her "children" were taken away from her? they live in family "pods" together for their whole lives...nothing about keeping whales in captivity is right. sigh. retire these intelligent mammals back to their homes..in the ocean...40 years is long enough! (Lolita, Marineland, Florida)
