Get the net! No, really - a drive's side safety net. To keep the human parts pretty close to "inside" the open-to-air vehicle. Might have kept his melon away from the big, bad, nasty, harmful rocks.

Not hitting the outside edge of the right wheel rut would have helped, too. Jus' sayin'.
