I think that the bottom of the plates that fell are jammed against the bottom of the plate that didn't fall. Also, it appears that the plates that fell are at an angle to the second truck, resting on the side of the first trucks edge, and the wheel hump. I bet his legs got slapped, but the plate didn't come down far enough to do any real damage. He's very lucky........

Surface area matters.  3500lbs might be a different story. But 770lbs in that situation... with that large surface area... that's why he didn't lose his legs, unlike that cargo-container lady of last week.  I'm sure he's sore and has some injuries, but with the wide distribution of that weight, he lived. |

His backward momentum had him falling into the truck bed head first & feet up, falling quicker than the slabs & so the slabs didn't pin his legs. If his truck had sidewalls, I imagine it would be a different story. There has to be a better way to do this. Chances are thaqt old guy had been doing this for years. Dumb broad was oblivious to it all. |
