Two Injured After Scrap Recycling Warehouse Explodes
China. Yesterday eyewitnesses reported a fire that initially started around 10:00 AM, with two distinct explosions heard between 1:30 PM and 3:20 PM at a scrap recycling warehouse located in Luzhi Town, Wuzhong District, Suzhou City, Jiangsu Province. After that a massive white mushroom cloud of smoke rising from the facility. The shockwaves from the explosions were strong enough to shatter windows and collapse ceilings of neighboring workplaces. Two people suffered burns. They were promptly hospitalized, and authorities have confirmed that their injuries are non-life-threatening. The local government stated that the blaze was successfully extinguished without causing environmental pollution or hazardous air contamination in the area. Local departments remain on-site handling the aftermath and investigating the exact trigger of the explosions |
