Two cranes and a bridge-deck flattening several houses and shops
About an hour ago @ the city Alphen a/d Rijn (Netherlands) they were going to place a new bridge deck. But it didn't went according to plan...  The massive boat-cranes crashed onto and flattening nearby houses, wounding at least 20 people! Lots of footage  Updates will follow  #The fire brigade brougt in heavy equipment and a team of sniffer dogs is on the way to assist the search & rescue operation # They freed one person from the collapsed houses and at least one other person is still trapped but alive, they also heard a dog barking who should have been in a Dog Cage during the accident. |

It's scaled down to just one person that got burried but was freed alive, and nearly unscratched, from the rubbish. The only death was a dog who got crushed while inside a Dog Cage. -The sniffer dogs and resquers couldn't find any trace of possible other people underneed. That it ended like this is mostly thanks to someone working in the shop that got demolished who heard cables snapping and shouting to everybody to get the fuck out off there! Seconds later the bridge destroyed this entire shop.. |

stupid squared safety report mentioned danger of moving loads total load on the ponton: about 3000 tons. the ponton is free floating, at least at the sides. so it can rock, you see it wobbling in the vid the cause: the load is not stabilized with horizontal cables. |

The cause according other specialized company's was that they used hydraulic powered cranes. They 'turn of' when out off balance, something pretty common when you are on a floating pontoon. They did however kept it in balance with massive waterpumps that pumped water around the big ballast-tanks inside the pontoons, but clearly something went wrong in this! An other remark was that they used too small equipement, should have used much bigger cranes..  |
