Re: Two Boats Collide on a River
Well... That was a fault from both sides, but mostly from the one comming downstream.. Dunno how different the rules are in Russia, but in case of a potential colision you should always steer towards your own shore, that means to the right / starboard.. .. Ok it's my provesion (River barging) so i might loose it a tiny bit ... The downstream barge made a steering mistake and nearly collided into the barge ahead from POV, but not correcting fast enough so it got into the pathof the second one (probably being drunk since it's Russia, or playing on his phone) This causes the other barge (POV) to go for Starboard to Starboard (wrong side passing each other, like going against traffic) while the downstream barge is still trying to get to his good side again.. The current result is obvious, but there were MANY opportunities for both ship 's to avoid the collision |

Re: Two Boats Collide on a River
This is my kind of provesion, trowing everything the Engine has into the Game, thus going FULLSPEED with the current! (Skip to 0:45 and 2:45 for the action) And sorry for the frustrating overlay.. It's a old video and not to be found so easily without this watermark.. |

Re: Two Boats Collide on a River
In Europe you have also a Cruise Company that has a massive reputation for crashes... Viking River Cruises and Somtrans! The worst Captain 's are sailing those passenger- cq "Crude-oil" riverbarges.. I'll upload some Crash vids overhere from our private collection |
