At least it’s not stuck on the tracks anymore… maybe had the driver put it in neutral they could have pushed it off the tracks.

I was just joking, but I hadn't considered that. I didn't know they locked up when they did that.

According to the police, the driver of the car was under the influence of alcohol and the case was taken to court.

If they would have called or broken the arm barrier then a signal for the train would be triggered automatically to stop.

Because his actions directly endangered the lives of the train passengers and crew, he faces up to 8 years in prison.

Operating a motor vehicle with a blood alcohol concentration above 0.5 mg/l is a crime in Poland, carrying a standalone sentence of up to 3 years in prison.

In Poland, committing a traffic crime while intoxicated automatically increases the minimum and maximum prison terms.

Any driver who causes an accident or an immediate traffic disaster while intoxicated faces mandatory confiscation of their vehicle.

Because the Iveco Daily was completely destroyed by the train, the court will calculate the pre-accident market value of the truck.

The driver will be ordered to pay the exact financial equivalent of that truck directly to the state treasury out of his own pocket.

He faces a driving disqualification ranging from a minimum of 3 years up to a lifetime ban from operating any motor vehicle.
