Re: Truck Vs Bus ( Security Camera)
Here you go: I will try to find one that actually explains it in English and not tech talk! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Digital_watermarking Basically it is a video that may be from another site and the watermark either shows the site or there is a copyright on it. |

Re: Truck Vs Bus ( Security Camera)
The ad and the actual clip are two different videos. If you use Firefox and the add-on Downloadhelper it is possible to download just the actual clip. This leads to the second part of the question: A clip can be embedded - then it is played on the original website, DR just delivers a "frame" for it. That also means that it comes with all the bells and whistles of that website, in this case ads. If you doubleclick on the video, the origial site will open in a new window with the video playing there. If a video is uploaded (just like an image) it plays from the DR server. It is automatically supplied with the DR watermark and it is reencoded. This costs a loss in quality, but in the usual LQ clip this is marginal. The wartermark and the qualityloss is a very low price to pay to be sure that the video actually stays. It is well known that Yotube gore vids can disappear in hours or less, and you get those threads with a lot of complains, because the video is gone. Most of the clips in videoland are flv's which can be uploaded as they are. avi's can be upped and converted on the DR-server. But a growing part of the higherquality videos are mp4, which you have to convert to flv before uploading. No prob - there are tons of free converters out there. |
