Re: Truck Driver Killed by His Own Load.
He lived. This had the same pics but the date doesn't match with the post date so now I'm not sure. BRUCEVILLE-EDDY (April 2, 2010)--The driver of an 18-wheeler was injured Friday afternoon when he slammed on his brakes to avoid another vehicle and the heavy-duty steel rebar he was carrying broke from its bonds and several pieces slammed into the cab of the truck. No other vehicles were involved. The driver, whose name wasn’t immediately released, was taken from the accident scene at mile marker 311 northbound to Scott & White Hospital in Temple for treatment of what rescuers at the scene called non life-threatening injuries. A News 10 photographer at the scene said several pieces of steel pipe , each 6- to 8-inches in diameter, crashed into the back of the truck’s cab and flattened both the driver's and passenger's seat backs. Traffic along the northbound side at the 311 was slowed as crews righted the truck and prepared to it away. Troopers from the Texas Department of Public Safety are investigating the accident. The story on the web sight says rebar it was definitely steel pipe happened around 2pm at least the driver lived |
