Train at High Speed Hits Pick-up Truck Crossing the Tracks
A pick-up truck was involved in an accident with a train at a crossing without barriers in Indonesia this Sunday morning at 07.35. The two passengers in the white Daihatsu Gran Max AG were safe, while their luggage was scattered. CCTV footage from a residents' house shows the pickup driving from south to north. When you want to cross the railroad tracks, from the right or east the train moves at high speed. The car had actually crossed the tracks, but the back of it was still on the train track. The pickup truck was hit hard, causing a cloud of white smoke. According to one local resident, the pickup driver was a shop owner who would deliver the ordered goods. "The goods brought were gallons of drinking water and bottled drinking water. The goods were scattered," he said. He told that the position of the crossing is indeed difficult because it is close to the main road and railway. At that time the train had sounded its horn several times, but the pickup was still running. He suspected that the train passing was an executive type, so it was going fast. "The economy train will definitely stop at the Station, until the location the road is still slow. This is really fast,"he said. After the impact occurred, the pickup truck spun once and stopped on the north side of the tracks facing west. Two people in the pickup survived, only suffering minor injuries. The driver got out first, while the driver was stuck in the car because the door was damaged. Residents helped open the right door by prying. On a daily basis, this crossing without barriers is guarded by volunteers. At the time of the incident, the volunteers on guard were having breakfast at a stall nearby. So at that time there was no one on guard. Head of the Police Traffic Unit said the pickup was driven by a 30 year old man. He suffered minor injuries and was taken to the Hospital. |

The train was having none of this "emergency stop" bullshit. It had places to go and things to do. There will be some procedural changes in regard to both volunteers taking a breakfast break at the same time - guaranteed. |

Worked as designed. The truck got "picked up". I guess by that logic you could also call it a dump truck. |
