Tractor Trailer Without Brakes Rams into 16 Vehicles
Mexico, A tractor trailer loaded with sacks of lime crashed into 16 vehicles that were circulating on the boulevard, at the entrance to the city. Presumably, the driver ran out of brakes and it was impossible to avoid the impact. Approximately seven injured people were treated. The majority, are stable, no critical injuries,” said the coordinator of the area of the Red Cross. Some witnesses pointed out that the trailer was traveling at high speed and the driver was unable to control the unit, impacting public and private transport vehicles that were at the scene. The authorities are investigating why the driver of the unit took a road that is prohibited by traffic regulations for heavy vehicles. He was arrested by Municipal Traffic and Highway police, but he reported pain in his spine, so he was assessed by the Traffic and Highways forensic doctor and was admitted to the General Hospital.. |

The truck carrying limes also hit a truck carrying salt and ultimately hit a truck carrying tequila - a party was had by all. |

Re: Tractor Trailer Without Brakes Rams into 16 Vehicles
Back in the early 2000’s, I worked at Florida Hospital. There is a highway right in front of it that is a major truck route from south Florida. On a random day, all of us at the billing office went out to lunch together and just returned; our parking lot being 1/4 of a block from the highway intersection. 2 red lights later, as we were walking in the building, we heard crashing and metal-on-metal. A semi driver fell asleep off and on from Avon Park to Sebring. If you know anything about the area, that’s a fair distance. He plowed into the #3 lane, which had 6 cars in it. The last car (the 1st he hit) flipped on its roof and as the car in front of him was simultaneously pushed, his car landed upside down, flat on the road. There were multiple lacerations and compound fractures from all parties involved, but only 1 fatality. The upside down car had a dude in a suit who’s seatbelt wouldn’t release (we all ran down to help so I have a firsthand account). The bitch of it is, the car was on fire and it was spreading. The ambulance got there immediately, because the substation was literally on the opposite corner, but no fire department. As bystanders, there was nothing any of us could do. The car became engulfed fairly quickly. Here it is, some 16-17 years later and I can remember the look of horror on that guys face and his screams when the flames hit him. It’s one thing to look at pictures and watch videos online, but it’s another to be right there dealing with it. Fire rescue eventually got there and pulled him out. His skin was sloughing off as they did and he was only gurgling at that point. The burn chopper from Tampa came and got him, but I think he only lasted 2 days. I can’t remember what sentence the trucker got. I’ll try to find my clippings from the incident (yeah, I know, old school). |
