Tractor-Trailer Overturns Near Neville Chemical Plant

NEVILLE TOWNSHIP, Pa. March 24 2009 The driver of a 40-ton tractor-trailer lost control at a Neville Island intersection and overturned a few feet away from a chemical plant.

Police said John Stedrack, of Vandergrift, was hauling a full load of cardboard that he’d just picked up when he lost control of his tractor-trailer at a sharp intersection on Grand Avenue around 8 a.m.

His tractor-trailer skidded to a stop just a few feet away from Neville Chemical plant where dangerous chemicals are stored, police said.

"I don't know what was on his mind but apparently, he didn't negociate the turn," said Chief Norbert Micklos, of the Ohio Township police.

Police said Stedrack, a driver for AGX International, was shaken up but not seriously injured in the crash.

Police charged Stedrack with speeding and overturning a vehicle.

They call pick-ups, trucks lol
Most of them never heard of big rig.

to be correct, trucks are "highway tractors" in the states. I am a trucker by trade.

Road trains, I passed one on the way to Darwin from Victoria........never again, I was pulling a 26' caravan and the suction almost pulled me into the rig, then when I passed the suction let go causing the van to swerve like hell "tail wagging the dog".

Seriously scary.
