Dashcam footage obtained from a Texas bus shows the moment when the driver slumped over unconscious, sending the huge vehicle on a collision course with a stationary train.

The accident, which took place in early January in Midland, shows the TRAX bus veering off the road and into a grassy embankment. Two female passengers can be heard screaming in terror as the bus rockets toward the train tracks.

Unfortunately, they can only watch as the bus slams into the train, shattering the windshield and causing severe damage to the front end of the transit vehicle.

The bus driver was later taken to the hospital in life-threatening condition, where it was discovered that she had suffered a medical condition that caused her to lose control of the bus. The two passengers on the bus were also treated for minor injuries and released.

Only one of the four locomotives involved in the accident was damaged and in need of repairs. Union Pacific released a statement hoping for a speedy recovery for those involved in the crash.
