holy shit.

Marjeh, Afghanistan 2011: The tram was tasked to destroy the wall so we could expand the intersection.

After taking down half of the wall, he kinda got blown up finishing the rest of it.

The driver was alright, just a little headache but managed to walk away from it without a scratch.

The I.E.D. was about 40lbs of explosives.

The explosion was quite big. He has some protection there in the cab however, the explosion did look rather big. Im sure the poor soldier would have been killed there by the explosion breaking glass and metal pieces.

I believe that the trams used for this are usually armored for exactly this reason. Tram was probably a bit bent out of shape but the operator likely survived with minimal injury.

Well the main problem with explosions is the concussive force,and being inside of a reinforced cab which is built to sustain tonnes of rock hitting it, i reckon he had a good chance of survival.
