Surveillance Video Captures Moment Man is Swallowed by Massive Sinkhole
Dramatic video posted online shows a man being swallowed by a sinkhole in real time. The gaping hole at a construction site may have been caused by heavy rains and the collapsing of old water pipes beneath the surface, the Shenzhen Special Zone Daily reported. Security guard Yang Jiabin was walking near the entrance of a building in Shenzhen when he falls into the 16 foot wide and 52 foot deep hole, the South China Morning Post. Local residents had previously complained about tremors from the construction project, according to a report by the paper said. The construction site is just feet from the Shenzhen Special Zone Daily's building. Jiabin is believed to have died from the fall, IBTimes reports. |
