Gas leak much!?!

It’s amazing how the flame covers the body like it does when this happens. In slow motion it’s amazing to watch. Kind of reminds me of the three guys in the smoke shop that die from an explosion from a propane gas leak.

I was wondering that too, but that seems incredibly stupid even for a Chinese company with less safety regulations, and adding odorant chemicals isn't particularly expensive. It is still a possibility though, so my theories in order of likelihood are -

1)He could smell it but underestimated how much had leaked out (it looks like he's retightening the connector before the bang, so he may well have smelled something).

2) The gas doesn't have mercaptan / sulfide compounds added to it.

3) He has a shit sense (or no sense) of smell from flu or covid type sickness.

If you freeze frame you can see his top half is engulfed in flames also, in fact almost the entire volume of the room is filled with the fireball at one point. I think it was a cotton top he was wearing and those pants were some polyester shit, hence the difference.
