Stolen Car in San Francisco Driven Off Dead-end Street, Plummets Down Stairs
Jul 27, 2023, S.F. - A video posted online shows a stolen car plunging over a large set of stairs in San Francisco. The white four-door sedan is shown roaring over the top of the hill, knocking down a tree and hitting a parked car as it landed on its roof. A bystander ran up to the car and forced open one of the doors, helping one of the people in the vehicle get out. It happened at a quiet intersection near Dolores Park and the Castro District. Three or four people were also seen leaving the vehicle and did not appear to be injured. None of them remained at the scene as San Francisco Fire Department unit arrived a few minutes later. "Amazing that they survived at all," resident Martha Rose told KGO-TV. "And it's amazing to me that the car came through all those trees, and then through the railing and then landed upside down." No one was walking on the stairs or sidewalk when the incident happened. Another clip shows the car plow through the railing at the top of the stairs where Cumberland dead ends. The San Francisco Fire Department tweeted about the crash Sunday morning in response "to the many media outlets calling" about the incident. The tweet clarified that the non-injury collision happened Saturday night at 7:18 p.m. Witnesses told SFFD personnel that all the occupants fled the scene. Fire personnel helped secure the area as a tow truck removed the vehicle. |

Hate for thieves. We all pay for that damage in insurance premiums and city taxes. Every cent. And those punks just scamper off in their hoodies to do it all over again. |
