Speedy Biker Beaten by Witnesses After Hitting a Dad and His Daughter
A motorcyclist enters the exclusive lane at high speed. In an instant he encounters a father and his daughter crossing the street. What follows is the motorcyclist and the family falling to the ground. The driver of the motor vehicle began to be harassed by people who were around. When he wanted to escape, someone took the keys to his motorcycle so that he could take responsibility for his actions and this led to him being beaten by other people who had also witnessed the accident. The traffic regulations of Mexico City establish in article 49 the use of the confined lane for cyclists and those drivers who do not respect it will be subject to a penalty of up to 20 times the Measurement and Update Unit (UMA), in addition to lose three points on your driver's license. The UMA has a value of 108.57 pesos for 2024, so the cost of the sanction can reach up to 2,171.40 pesos. However, if people are injured due to the impact of a vehicle, it is necessary to call the insurance company. It is mandatory for all motorists and motorcyclists to have a third party damage policy. In CDMX, not having this coverage can cost a fine of up to 4,342.80 pesos. |

Fair point. On a laned road I think its dangerous to be travelling at a significantly higher speed than traffic in an adjoining lane. The usual problem is some dipshit deciding to pull into your lane without checking. So, besides his choice of lane, I think it was reckless to be travelling at that speed - even if he was under the speed limit. |
