Spectator Killed & 8 Injured when Renault Clio Plows into Them During Race
A spectator has been tragically killed after being hit by a rally car during a race in San Marino. Eight more were injured when the Renault Clio Maxi of Enrico Bonaso and Alice Palazzi came off the road and went into hay bales where crowds were watching. The spectator, identified as 57-year-old Henry Anselmino, was killed instantly. Other injured spectators were rushed to local hospitals. According to Gazzetta dello Sport, three of the eight injured are in ‘code red’ condition. Footage appears to show the Clio losing control on wet tarmac and careening straight into where spectators were watching.   |

Spectator area at outer curve. Sue the organizers.  I've been watching at couple of WRC rallies and that's a big no no this days. Something has been learned from eighties. Fucking amateurs, that was totally avoidable.  ...Or those people were there without permit, but anyway there have to be staff to drive those people away. |

Inner curve, outer curve... frankly if there's no physical barrier that can stop a tonne or so of vehicle plowing into you if it loses control, you probably shouldn't be standing anywhere near the road...
