Special Forces Captain Dies After Parachute Landing Goes Wrong
Captain Luis Pavel Luna Kunhardt, PN, got injured but later died when he participated in a practice of Salto Libre parachutists in the Command of Special Forces, which was carried out as part of the activities commemorating the anniversary of that command. As soon as the incident occurred, the wounded man was promptly taken to the FARD Military Teaching Hospital "Dr. Ramón de Lara "of the San Isidro Air Base, where a team of highly qualified doctors of the institution lent him the attention that merited the unfortunate case. Major General Luís Napoleón Payán Díaz of the Air Force of the Dominican Republic started the accident investigation commission, which is conducting the experiments in detail to determine the causes that caused the tragic crash of the parachutist. The General Command in the name of all the members of this institution, in particular the Special Forces Command of the FARD, joins the pain of the families of Captain Luna Kunhardt and at the same time provides for the suspension of the activities commemorating the 58th Anniversary of the Special Forces Command. |
