The proper way to stop a scooter is to use the rear brakes a bit and when you're getting close you use the front brakes.
This isn't the case, if you use the rear brakes here you will skid and lose control. If you, however, know how to properly drive a scooter like a ninja, you could use it to drift like a pro and avoid contact.
No seriously, fuck it, I'd rather have the side of my scooter crash and risk breaking a leg or something than full frontal contact!

I guess he isn't part of the "Asian population control plan" yet.
