Re: Six Killed Whe Na Proton SUV Hits a Truck
Proton X50 Driven Newly 'Out of the Shop' This Morning The Proton X50 SUV driven by the family involved in a fatal accident here today was said to have just been purchased today. In fact, the vehicle was said to have been picked up at a dealership in Juru, Penang at around 11am this morning before being involved in an accident with a lorry carrying soil in Kampung Baru Pinang Tunggal, here, causing six deaths and another injury. In addition to the driver, Ahmad Syafiq Ahmad Shukri, 27, also killed were his brother, Ahmad Fahim, 21; Nora Mhd Husin, 55; Jamaliah Sannusi, 27; as well as a seven-year-old child and a six-month-old baby. Another passenger, a three-year-old child, was seriously injured and sent to hospital for further treatment. The bodies of the six victims were sent to the Forensic Department of the Sultanah Bahiyah Hospital (HSB) in Alor Setar for further action. According to family members, the Proton X50 that seven members of the family were riding in belonged to Ahmad Fahim, who is also a policeman stationed in Penang, and it is understood that all the victims had time to try out the vehicle on their way to Merbok to visit the grave of the victim's late father. The father of one of the victims, Ibrahim Ghazali, who is also Ahmad Fahim's brother-in-law, said that his second child, who is seven years old, joined at the last minute because he was very excited to ride in the new vehicle. "This morning they were really excited to take the car and took pictures of the new car out, including my son, who wanted to ride in the car. But I didn't expect it all to happen in an instant," he said. Kedah Police Chief Datuk Adzli Shah is expected to hold a press conference regarding the accident at the HSB Forensic Department tonight.
