Shopping Woman Got Hit
The incident was captured by security cameras in the area. The footage shows the moment the truck struck the woman, and then the driver fled the scene. According to witnesses, security patrol units arrived minutes after the accident to attend to the emergency. However, they initially failed to notice that the driver of the vehicle involved had fled the scene. The victim received assistance after being hit by the car and, according to preliminary information, their condition is serious. Their identity has not yet been released.

Peru. A street vendor identified as Maritza Aguirre , 51, was seriously injured after being struck by a silver pickup truck on Los Chancas Avenue in the Santa Anita district. The driver of the vehicle, license plate D4H-523, identified by the Peruvian National Police as Víctor José Morales Meneses, a foreign national, fled the scene on foot after the accident. The victim was about to get into a taxi when the out-of-control vehicle struck her in the street. The taxi driver, who was helping the woman put her merchandise in the trunk, got injured in the arm as a result of the collision. Ten people, including adults and minors, exited the vehicle involved, none of whom requested medical assistance for the injured. The passenger in the pickup truck and owner of the vehicle, identified as 44-year-old Karla Barzola Ñaña , got out of the vehicle after the impact to check on the condition of the shopkeeper. According to witnesses in the area, the owner of the vehicle and another occupant signaled to the driver to move away from the scene before the authorities arrived. The shopkeeper was rushed to the Montefiori clinic, where she remains hospitalized in serious condition due to injuries sustained in the crash. Family members of the victim gathered outside the medical facility and the police station to demand justice and the swift apprehension of the person responsible. The vehicle's owner, Karla Barzola Ñaña , was detained and taken to the Santa Anita police station to participate in the corresponding legal proceedings. Both vehicles involved in the accident are being held at the police station for forensic examination. The Peruvian National Police are continuing their investigation to locate Víctor José Morales Meneses, who remains at large. |
