Re: Self Driving Car Gets an Accident

One of the dumbest inventions humankind has ever conceived. There are too many hazards to trust a computer.

I had an articulated lorry coming towards me the other day with farm machinery on it (ploughshares) and it made a turn with me on the outside. All I could fixate on was the load on the trailer and planning my escape route if it shifted. Nothing happened as it was well secured, but a self driving car would have got me killed. I can't ever see a computer having the same level of forethought as the human mind. They don't and never will proactively imagine a scenario and formulate a strategy to avoid it.
That's what I love about this website. It really opens your eyes to what could happen, and allows you to plan for something that for most people would've "unexpected."
