Two men died after an intercity passenger bus struck them beside a parked truck in the Terme district of Samsun, Turkey, on August 25, 2025. Aydın Yiğit, 47, and Mehmet Yıldız, 69, were pulling a tarpaulin over the truck on the hard shoulder near Gündoğdu when the bus hit them and continued into a cornfield.

Yiğit died at Terme State Hospital that day. Yıldız died in hospital on August 27. The bus driver, Mustafa Hakan Okul, was arrested and jailed pending trial on a charge of causing two deaths by negligence. The investigation was ongoing when his detention was reported on August 28.

Forward-facing CCTV from inside the bus shows it drifting right onto the shoulder of a wet divided highway. The windshield cracks on impact before the bus enters roadside vegetation and strikes a billboard. The driver keeps both hands on the wheel and shows no visible reaction during the sequence.

hiccups can occur during sleep and are a common, temporary reflex caused by diaphragm irritation. Common causes include eating spicy foods, drinking alcohol, stress, or acid reflux.

Is there something wrong medically? The way he didn't react the whole time is kinda telling.
