Safety Bar on Amusement Ride Breaks Off, Injuring 5
Krabi province, Thailand. A safety bar broke loose on a swinging amusement ride, causing injuries to five people in the Krabi Noi subdistrict. The owner of the machine, who was arrested, claimed it was a mistake from staff operating the machine, who forgot to lock the safety bar and therefore causing it to open during the ride. All five people - four of whom were aged between 12 and 15 - are expected to recover, with the owner promising to pay their treatment bills.

Re: Safety Bar on Amusement Ride Breaks Off, Injuring 5
That would suck. The bar hinges upward and outward. So the riders were rotated up off their seats by the rising bar, then dumped past their seats to the ground. Ouch.
