Honda City & Proton Waja Engage In ‘Tailgate War’ Leading Up To Accident On The Highway

The driver and passenger of a car were injured after the vehicle they were riding in skidded and overturned after being crushed by a Honda City at Kilometer 49.4 of the Kuala Lumpur-Karak Highway near here, yesterday. Acting Director of Bukit Aman Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department (JSPT), Datuk Mohd. Nasri Omar said, the investigation found that the incident happened at about 10.15am involving two Proton Waja and Honda City cars. He said, further investigation found that the two victims were riding the Proton Waja from Kuantan to Kedah while the Honda City was from Temerloh to Shah Alam.

"On arrival at the scene of the incident, the Honda City involved is believed to have been driven carelessly in addition to pushing and pressing the brakes, causing the Proton Waja driver to fail to control his vehicle before it crashed. As a result of the incident, two individuals, the driver and passenger of the Proton Waja aged between 30 and 50, were injured in the head and hands," he said when contacted by Utusan Malaysia here today.

Mohd. Nasri said the investigation was conducted under Section 42 (1) of the Road Transport Act 1987. Today, a video went viral on social media of an accident involving a vehicle after it was believed to have been crushed by another vehicle. The viral video lasting one minute and 41 seconds shows the incident that started when the Proton Waja involved is believed to be changing from the left lane to the right lane. The Honda City from behind was driven by a man who was said to be unhappy with the Proton Waja's actions and then followed closely before a collision occurred between the two. As a result, the Proton Waja lost control before crashing at Kilometer 49.4 of the Kuala Lumpur-Karak Highway near here.
