Rally Car Crashes into House on Tenerife
A spectacular accident occurred at the 41st Tenerife North Rally, held on a weekend marked by significant rainfall on the island, compounded by fog in several of the competition sections. One of the competing cars collided with an old house, causing part of it to collapse. Sergio Fuentes and Teocrice Hernández won the event, which saw accidents, including that of Jan Cerny, who had to retire after going off the road. Today, rider Alexey Lukyanuk crashed into an abandoned house, a move that Yeray Lemes would later repeat. Lemes' impact was greater, causing part of the house to collapse. |

Re: Rally Car Crashes into House on Tenerife
Having worked on WRC events, I am astonished that they used a road like that as a rally stage. Anyone with rally experience knows that the cars are not particularly good at staying on the road, especially on asphalt when its raining. Totally predictable. Lucky they didn't demolish a multi-story "building" with people in it. |
