Romania. A Porsche Macan driver caused a fatal accident by entering the opposite lane on a curve while distracted and/or traveling at a high speed.

The Dacia Sandero Stepway rolled from the road partially on the railroad tracks. The car was driven by the victim's husband.

Ana-Maria, the 23-year-old pregnant woman, was a passenger in the vehicle and was airlifted to the Hospital by Helicopter. She died together with her 6-7 months old fetus. She was pregnant of her second child. The husband got injured.

The Porsche driver, who got slightly injured, is facing charges of culpable homicide. Given that the victim was six to seven months pregnant and the unborn child did not survive, legal experts indicate that additional charges related to the death of the fetus are being considered under the Romanian Penal Code.

Investigators have cited excessive speed and crossing a continuous line in a curve as the primary causes.

Under Article 192 of the Romanian Penal Code, involuntary manslaughter (culpable homicide) typically carries a prison sentence of 1 to 5 years.

If the accident was caused by a failure to observe legal regulations (such as the illegal lane crossing in this case), the penalty increases to between 2 and 7 years.

Guys, don’t take this statistic for granted. It’s probably put together by some ultra-liberal circles in Brussels who clearly have their own biases.

I live in the region, and I can tell you that Ukraine was — and still is — one of the most corrupt countries around.

Drugs, weapons (especially now during the war), prostitution, organized crime — it’s all there. Even things like surrogacy are widely arranged by law.
