Re: Police Vehicle Hit by Train Due to Impatient Cop
2019. A Midland County Sheriff Deputy in Texas was injured on May 21 after running into a train. The deputy was responding to a call when he failed to yield to a passing train. The officer was responding to a distress call for a child who was having trouble breathing. Two deputies in separate police vehicles were driving with lights and sirens on and were going through red lights when they were stopped by a slow moving train. The first train passed, but there was also a second train on parallel tracks that one of the deputies failed to see. The train smashed into the deputy's vehicle, flipping it. Even through the cop car was no match for the train, the deputy only had minor injuries. The child involved in the distress call received help and also was taken to the hospital. |
