Seems too low-energy to be natural gas. My guess is methane built up in the underground cavity under the bollard he was erecting. He sparked it off when his pry-iron slipped. Just a guess.

I understand this was a popular pastime during the Civil War in the U.S. with guys who had cannons around. Supposedly, that is what killed Lincoln.  The good part is you don't have to worry about delivery. That gun will punch the food right through the wall of a house. (But sometimes it knocks the people inside the house down. So there's that.) |
