Average GDP Per capita is around $6,500 USD annually so I assumed low incomes were a bit higher, but now that I see Fiji actually has a slightly higher GDP than the Philippines. I lived in Fiji for years so I can use my knowledge of that country to help with comparison - I have friends who still live there and I know a maid will only earn about $30 to $40 USD a week.

Property in Fiji is actually expensive if you want something decent, but I understand you can buy a nice apartment in the Philippines for next to nothing (compared to where I live). Always interesting to talk to people in other countries...
