Re: Person Walking on the Road Hit Hard from Behind by Swerving Car

I agree they should have been walking on the sidewalk (if you can call that shit a sidewalk), but the car that hit them was on the wrong side of the road (I checked and Brazil drives on the right hand side) so the pedestrians would have assumed they were all clear to walk there until they saw something coming from ahead of them.
While i agree with both statements I feel like it could have been avoided if the pedestrian wasn't in the road to begin with. But hey, just 1 less asshat that can't reproduce.
Love how he's flying to the wall! I think it was brutally beautiful!

If a car can hit someone on the wrong side of the road they can hit someone on the side-walk too. I've seen it all before, you always run a risk of getting killed no matter what you do.

And I realise that in this case walking on the sidewalk would have saved him. But yeah, on another day she gets hit and he's saved by standing on the road because the car was so far off it went onto the gravel.

Someone who reads this comment may die today without doing anything out of the ordinary. If you're reading this it's probably you.

Re: Person Walking on the Road Hit Hard from Behind by Swerving Car

Thats what people get when they act like they own the road while walking. i am always irritated by people like that. they cross the roads at their own pace, oblivious to the fact (or maybe they are doing it on purpose) that you are stopped just waiting for them to pass through. and most walks along the streets in the same direction as you and walking on the street instead of the sidewalks and walks as if doing the moonwalk. irritating.
So the penalty (in your eyes) for not walking on the sidewalk is death?....Holly shit! please call me before you EVER drive.

overtaking without clear forward visual maybe? but i still think it looks more intentional.

well if you use the streets intended for vehicles that way... id say you're not that far from getting the same. when im walking, i always walk in the sidewalk in the opposite lane im heading. that way i see oncoming traffic and lees worry about whats behind me. although i still look behind once in a while. And i never overtake without seeing first if i can get back in my lane without interference. Roads are for vehicles, Sidewalks are for people. when you cross, use the least time needed to do it.
