Pensioner Looking on Her Phone Run Over by a Box Truck Backing Up
An elderly woman miraculously escaped death under the wheels of a truck reversing on the sidewalk, the press service of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the Moscow Region reported. The incident occurred on the afternoon of September 16 near one of the houses on Oktyabrskaya Revolyutsii Street. A driver born in 1996, driving a Gazelle truck, while reversing on the sidewalk, hit a woman born in 1958. As a result of the accident, the victim was taken to a medical facility with bodily injuries, the department specified . According to the police, the driver left after unloading without making sure it was safe to do so. As a result of the impact, the pensioner was knocked down and ended up under the car. The car was stopped at the last moment, and the wheels did not hit the woman. An investigation is underway, and the driver may be held criminally liable as a result. |
